First zoo trip of the year

We went to the zoo for the first time this year. What a busy day to choose!  We had to stand in line for about 10 minutes (ordinarily there is no line!) and there were about 8 field trips.

After the carousel, Daughter did not want to leave. I'm thankful that we had cousins there and her cousin was able to convince her to leave.

We went to the library after the zoo. It didn't go exceedingly smoothly when we had to leave, but no fit!

First tooth!

Bottom left

We had a play date out here this morning. So fun!  One of the boys found a worm that became beloved by all by the time they left. He placed the worm on the play set (his mom said he couldn't take it home 😉) and told Daughter to watch it.

As they pulled away, Daughter said "I gotta watch the worm!"

It's dead. But she's watching it 😜

4 month check

He's teething. His bottom teeth are really popping through.

Last night was rough. For the past two days Son has been fussier than normal, but last night he was up 7 times 😩. I really was expecting to sees tooth this morning!

Today was his 4 month appt so he got shots on top of the teething pain. He's a tough little guy, but boy is he fussy!

I brought Daughter with to the appt. she did wonderful!  I really wasn't expecting her to do so well!

Afterward I was able to get a smile out of Mr Smiles

He's off the charts for weight (21 lbs 6 oz)
And 81% for height (26 inches)

First foods!

He's tried oatmeal cereal and peas 😊

He's not really great at actually eating.... he pushes more out than he swallows but that's normal, right?

Mother's Day/ birthday gift

I got a strawberry garden!

Mat and Daughter put it together and planted the strawberries 😊

So excited!

Garden time!

My three perennials are doing good!  Rhubarb, raspberries, and cilantro. I hope we get some raspberries this year 😊

Daughter and Wasabi wanted to ride with me to add the weeds to the brush pile 😊

Unofficial homeschool

We just do a bit here and there, no structured curriculum yet (we already purchased My Fathers World pre-k for 4 year olds)

Some days go like this...

And then other days....

And then Daughter asks for ice cream....

We're going to start the MFW curriculum in August when she is 4. For now, just working on her attention span 😊

3 month home visit

Today was the three month post placement visit. Half way to finalization!!!!

Last night was stormy so Son didn't sleep well. The rain gage had almost 2 inches in it this morning!  The rest of the day was rainy so we decided to run to town as a family.

First we went to the library...

Then we went to DQ

Daughter got cold after we had our ice cream (I did too!)

Then while Mat and Joey waited in the car, Daughter and I did a Walmart run. She did the best she's ever done in the store!  I was so impressed!

It was a fun day even though it was pretty icky. 😊

Daughters first dinner party

We left our paper plate holder out.... Daughter found it.

Then she brought a plate, knife, and fork to the table. Declared she was having a dinner party, and asked for strawberries, grapes, and cheese it's. (It's a classy dinner party)

3 months old!

Our little beef cake is three months old!

He's pretty smiley (except the last few days through a growth spurt) and he giggles.

His "diet" that the doctor put him on is working. According to my scale, he's only gained 1.5 pounds in a month.

He's sleeping more and more at night. Last night did a stretch for over 8 hours!

Adoption books

I ordered a couple of new adoption books off Amazon

Neither of the stories are exactly like ours, burly they're still close enough to melt my heart. Reading through them tonight they each brought happy tears 😊

Public recognition of Baptism

Because of the TPR issues, we had to have a small, private ceremony for Sons baptism.  But now that the TPR has gone through, we had the public recognition of baptism with a bunch of family in front of our whole congragation.  We got two baptism candles out of the deal!

849 is Sons hymn. Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness 😊

Our family and Sons sponsors, my cousin and her husband.

He's already a ladies man, with Grandma Great :)

JAM! (Jesus and me)

Daughter had a blast today at JAM!  It was a building workshop and she got to build with different things.

She had a melt down after  she wandered into another part of the church while I was doing a diaper change on Son. One of the other moms went to get her for me.

Oh, the humanity!  Screams galore!

So I took her out to the car until she calmed down   She said she was tired and sad. She wanted a nap. She wanted her blankies.

Last night she passed out at 5:45 and slept until 6 today (giving up on napping is tough!).

I told her that we had to go inside to get Son but that we could leave if she wanted. Once we got inside they were playing a running game (what time is it, Mr Fox?) and she wanted to stay and run around.

Better than the last outing we tried!

Here are some pics of Son today, too 😊
