15 months!
Daughter is 15 months! At the Doctor (no, not that Doctor ;) yesterday, she had an ear infection and was getting a molar. So she wasn't (and isn't) very happy.
But now she's on antibiotics. And let me tell you, (begin sarcasm)she's such a peach to give medicine to. No squirming or spitting it out at all! (end sarcasm)
Here are some 15 month facts :)

Malia and the no good, terrible, very bad day
Yep. One of those days.
It started with Daughter waking me at around 7. I got her fed, got ready and started baking a cake for Reformation Sunday Bratluck. While it was baking, and Daughter was playing, I got ready and logged onto Facebook.
I scrolled through the newsfeed page and one of my friends had written something about nearly forgetting that it was daylight savings today. Oh my gosh! Daylight savings! I checked my google calendar and sure enough, it was daylight savings!
So I changed out of my church clothes (who wants to walk around an extra hour in dress clothes when you can be comfortable, right?) and changed all the clocks back.
I told Mat excitedly that we have an extra hour!
"Really? My phone didn't change..."
So I checked my phone. It didn't change either...
I checked my google calendar again, yup daylight savings was today. But also next week....
Turns out my calendar also has Norwegian holidays and daylight savings time is today in Europe- where my FB friend lives.
So that was the start.
The end was me deciding that I didn't need to bring my purse to Bible study. I was bringing Daughter and carrying her, a diaper bag, and a purse is a bit much. So I clipped my keys onto my jeans and stuck my wallet in the diaper bag. I had Daughter bathed and ready and got there early!
After Bible study I was heading home when I realized that I didn't have my house keys. Just my car keys... So I went to call him... No phone.
So I turned around and went back to the parsonage. Used Pastor's phone to call Mat, who had already left for work, and waited while Daughter had some small meltdowns. Pastor and his wife (who hosts the women's Bible study) were very gracious about the whole thing and their kids helped me look out the window for Mat. He came, I got the keys, and I came home.
No cell phone, I drove much more cautiously! About 1.5 miles away from our house, a deer jumped out on front of my car! Thank God I didn't hit it!
So yeah, bad day. I need some chocolate.

Lutherans for Life Executive Director
I had the chance to meet the executive director for Lutherans for Life, Dr Lamb, this past Sunday.
He preached at our church, but since we were in WI, we didn't make it back in time for the service or Bible study (at which I heard that we were talked about!) but I did make it to the Right to Life Education "Night" that afternoon. He's an enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker. He even spoke about Measure 1 on ND ballot this November.
After his presentation, I had a chance to speak with him to get his opinion on our frozen dozen snowflakes. I've been curious about peoples opinions about us keeping them frozen so that we can grow our family before (possibly) putting the remainder up for adoption again once we're done growing our family. I didn't phrase the question very well, and I was a bit flustered as I sometimes am in social situations, so it took him a while to understand what I was asking. Once he finally did understand, he said he thought it was perfectly fine.
Great! That's what I've always thought... but I wanted some other opinions. Daughter was frozen for 14 years before she was transferred and given the chance to grow. Her siblings have been frozen 16 years now! That seems insane!

A cold :(
The family has a cold. Daughter is just a bit fussier, cuddlier, and sleeping a bit more. Oh, and her shirts are getting drenched with fluid even if I change her throughout the day. Snot and spit.

travel arrangements made!
I've never booked a flight... I don't like flying and generally avoid it- so I've only flown when somebody else booked it. So I asked my pseudo-travel-agent sister to help me and she just ended up booking it for me... and the rental car... Thanks sis! I did manage to book the hotel like the grown up that I am...
Anyway, we'll be in TN for 2 days. The appointment is on a Monday, so Mat should only have to miss 2 days of work.
I'm nervous about flying, but it'll be OK. We won't fly for the actual transfer because my stress levels need to be low, and flying stresses me out.
Eeep! Baby #2 is becoming closer! We need to finish our home study renewal!

Ordered my Estrace :)
Woot! I ordered my Estrace for our consult/mock transfer in December!
I called yesterday to make sure they were still going to send out orders for the lab tests and the estrace... she said that my file was marked "pending" or something like that. She wasn't sure why, but then she emailed me everything I needed.
There's one pharmacy out of Maryland that Dr Keenan trusts to have generic Estrace that is close enough to the original. So I ordered from there, and it was only $12.99! That's way cheaper than last time when I had to get name brand.
But, the pharmacy is not licensed in ND... there's a law in ND that all pharmacies must be 51% or more owned by the pharmacists. (I believe this is a very dumb law... luckily, it's being voted on in November and I know how I'll be voting.) So they have to ship it to my parents at the lake (in MN).
Dumb beyond all dumb. Or I could spend $300 for the same pills from a local pharmacy.

Sleep regression...
Sleep regression.
Ugly, disgusting phrase...
Last night Daughter went to sleep at 7:30. Then she was up at 10:30, 3:30, and 5.
Mama is tired. But once I got her back to bed (after the 5:00 wake up I just put her back in the crib and let her cry it out, as I'd read ) she slept till after 9, so she's wide awake today!
If it happens tonight, I'm going to try to let her CIO. It'll be hard, but that seems to be the consensus on line.
Any other ideas, mamas out there?

14 months!
Oh goodness, the time has gone so quickly!
This morning before the sun rose |
At the zoo with a cousin |
- She's toddling everywhere now.
- She folds her hands when we say grace. It's so cute!
- she gets into everything. So curious!
- her hair is getting really long.
- each day she naps differently. She's going between 2 naps and 1 nap...
- She likes to climb up onto the chair, stand against the back, and rock it.
