Quilting retreat!

So much fun!  So many amazing ladies there.  Most of us were doing the True Blue pattern by Carrie Nelson (Miss Rosie's Quilts)

Almost got my True Blue quilt top done. Just need to put the piano key border on.

I already have the strips sewn together for the piano key border...

I used the Folklore fat quarter bundle by Moda (Lily Ashbury) and I love it!  I'm probably going to add a solid border outside of the piano key border to make it a queen size.  This is going on our bed :)

The house is less magical when I'm gone

Mat always jokes about our "magic floors" or "magic dishes" because he leaves dirty laundry, dishes, etc. around and "magically" it ends up clean and put away.

This weekend Daughter and I went to my sisters for Nieces baptism. May had to work so he stayed here. When I came back he said he missed us and the house was less magical without me :)

Some pics from the weekend...

We've got a climber!

She climbs on everything!  Takes the occasional tumble but she's a pretty tough cookie.

A while back I heard some keys jangling. I turned around and she had climbed up the step stool and was grabbing things on the counter!  No more keeping the step stool in the kitchen!

I yelled at my daughter :(

She's teething... we think she's getting two new ones.

She's been beyond fussy.

I was making dinner and she wouldn't stop fussing.  She needed to be held and I needed to make dinner.  I yelled :(

It happens, I know... but I still feel horrible.

This is a taste of her fussiness... from earlier in the day when I still had a sense of humor about it.

Quilt for my Godmother

I have two wonderful Godmothers (plus one Godfather). And I'll probably make the other a quilt one of these days...

She loved it :).

It's backed with yellow minky and stitched in the ditch diagonally across the pinwheels.

Freezing sweet corn

This was my first year ever planting sweet corn.  It grew great!  And I even stopped weeding back in July, hehehe.

Got this wonderful tip from my in-laws, angel food cake pan for scraping corn off the cob!

Pretty sure Daughter has allergies.  She fits in well!  Mat is horribly allergic to ragweed and I need some Claritin every day during this season.

So Daughter has been sneezing at least a dozen times a day.  Now when she sneezes she looks at me or Mat expectantly with a small half smile and waits for us to say "God bless you".  When we do she gets the biggest grin :)

13 months!

Daughter is 13 months already!  Crazy!

  • She loves swinging
  • She loves it when I sing (no accounting for taste)
  • She can walk, and does a few steps here and there, but crawling is still her preferred method of movement
  • She babbles a lot
  • She's starting to cuddle with her dollies
  • I'm able to get her up in the top of the play set (picture above) and we can go down the slide together.
  • She's still not very impressed with slides.
  • She loves playing with grass!
  • She loves to climb through the dinner table when all the chairs are pushed in.  We call it her obstacle course.
  • She loves climbing!
  • She loves when a person lays on the floor with her and lets her climb on them.
  • She enjoys "lint mining" in Daddy's belly button.

On the nursing front, I am completely done. I have been for a couple weeks now. But I've still been pretty sore and  just last night I leaked!  I'm hoping it's all out now.
