Field trip

Today we went to Fort Abercrombie for a field trip with our homeschool group. It was so much fun!

Son was a real handful, but Daughter did great!

We got a new book from the gift shop. Daughter got a fan and the tour guide showed her how women used to communicate with the fans. It was fun and neat!

The book had directions for making a Tepee (we substituted pipe cleaners for twigs because it was raining) and loads of other neat activities.

Good but busy day!  I’m so glad our homeschool group doesn’t usually meet on Mondays!

School days

Notice only one of the homeschool pics is in our own home?  That’s one of the benefits of homeschool-  Field trips!  Learning in different environments and especially outside 😊

Son has been joining us for the table portion of school this year (last year we did it during his nap). He wants to learn, too!

Tucked in by Daughter

Today I was sitting on the couch with a quilt when Daughter asked me to lie down so she could tuck me in. Tuck me in she did! Complete with Bible stories and prayer! Then she left the room for a moment, came back and told me I should have my eyes closed. When I close them she pried my mouth open and pretended to take a tooth saying she was the tooth fairy. She stuck a tub of Play Doh under the pillow and flew (complete with flapping arms for wings) away 😂

Snow!!!!

We’ve had a snow free winter. Very uncommon for ND!  But about a week ago, we got a bit of snow and we keep getting more!

School is fun!

I love when Daughter gets excited about school!  She asks to do it!

Yesterday’s lesson was Joshua and the battle of Jericho. We built the walls around a city, walked around it for “6 days” and then on the 7th we walked around 7 times with trumpets.

I love the fun ideas in My Fathers World curriculum!

Christmas cookies and crafts!

Daughter’s favorite part of baking Christmas cookies is unwrapping the chocolates 😜

She said that’s her (she was an angel in the nativity play)

Making paper plate Santa’s

Both kids love getting some daddy time in during his vacation from work   He helped us build the wall Santa 🎅

We made wreaths

Our curriculum called for us to make Christmas Wreaths today.

But then we found out that Son could reach the top of the table...,

He sure looks proud of himself!

Noodles change into pretzels

A few nights ago hubby put some pretzels onto Daughter’s plate after we had left the dinner table. When she came back into the kitchen she said “my noodles changed into pretzels!”

When I went to tuck her in she had to tell me all about it. I laughed hysterically!

The next day she was eating leftovers (my favorite food to make!) and she excused herself to go to the bathroom but said “watch and make sure my noodles don’t turn into pretzels”

😜😂

Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness

Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness was the hymn of the day today. That's sons hymn!  We sing it to him as a lullaby whenever we put him down for a nap or bed. It lulled him right to sleep in his carrier 😊

Daughter has started singing whenever I say "Son needs a nap".

Anyway, we served the treats at church today so I got some cute pics of Son while Daughter was in Sunday School.

Last call for the beach!

We went to the beach today with two other homeschool families. We regularly have play dates with one of them but it was our first time meeting the other family. They also use MFW and they love it. I got some insight into the future if we stick with MFW curriculum. We all had a blast!

Son ate sand... and splashed around a lot. There was another baby there so they got to play together a bit.

Daughter had fun building sand castles, playing in the water, and swimming with all the kids. 😊

Homeschooling fun!

She loves the learning toys!

My Fathers World (our curriculum) calls for lots of outdoor play each day.

Watercoloring the ship for Voyage of Discovery! (MFW pre-k)

We made "a" with our play doh.

We made the play doh ourselves as part of school 😊
It's working out really well to do the indoor curriculum while Son takes his morning nap. Then we can all head outside for some learning games and free play!

I am having a blast!  I didn't know I'd have this much fun!

Sand box fun

Daughter is making "ice cream". Son wants some!

No brother!  You don't really eat it!

Mmmm. It's good ice cream, sis 😊
