Son needs more ear tubes

Son went to the ENT yesterday and he has an ear infection. They want to do more ear tubes, but they wanted to know if he should also have his adenoids removed. So we went for an X-ray. Yikes. He did not want one!

So I called for reinforcements. My parents were only five minutes away and always willing to help. They’re wonderful!  They came and papa and grandma soothed him right into getting those X-rays done and then took us to a Luau to boot!

Thanks, mom and dad. You guys rock!

Field trip

Today we went to Fort Abercrombie for a field trip with our homeschool group. It was so much fun!

Son was a real handful, but Daughter did great!

We got a new book from the gift shop. Daughter got a fan and the tour guide showed her how women used to communicate with the fans. It was fun and neat!

The book had directions for making a Tepee (we substituted pipe cleaners for twigs because it was raining) and loads of other neat activities.

Good but busy day!  I’m so glad our homeschool group doesn’t usually meet on Mondays!

School days

Notice only one of the homeschool pics is in our own home?  That’s one of the benefits of homeschool-  Field trips!  Learning in different environments and especially outside 😊

Son has been joining us for the table portion of school this year (last year we did it during his nap). He wants to learn, too!

18 month check

This little tank is 18 months!  He’s off the charts both in weight and height.

33.5 lbs
2’11.5”

The kids and I spent the week at the lake with cousins and Grandma and papa. It was fun but exhausting!

Snow!!!!

We’ve had a snow free winter. Very uncommon for ND!  But about a week ago, we got a bit of snow and we keep getting more!

Son is one!!!

He’s 31.5 inches (96%) and 29 lbs (99%).   His head is 95th percentile so he’s pretty big all around.

Wearing 2t clothes.

He’s walking everywhere!

He has 10 teeth, 4 molars, and two more I teeth coming in.

He says mama, Dada, papa, gamma, hi, bye, and just today said “sista” for the first time!  He was pointing at her picture!

He loves food!  Favorites are meat, noodles, peas, raspberries, and crackers.

He has had bad ear infections and will be getting tubes later this month. 😞

Because of that (and the constant teething) he has not slept through the night for at least a month.

Even though he is so uncomfortable he is still very smiley and happy. Eager to explore and laugh- he loves being chased by daddy or sister.

We are so blessed to be his family!  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Molars! And ear infections!

Son is obviously upset here. His FaceTime with Grandma just ended. But it’s a good shot of his two lower molars!

But he enjoys how they help him chew!

This little man is going through a tough time.  The molars are tough to cut, but on top of that he’s got ear infections that just won’t go away (we’re on his 5th antibiotic!)

He’s got a consult with an ENT set and our pediatrician said he’d probably require ear tubes 😥

We made wreaths

Our curriculum called for us to make Christmas Wreaths today.

But then we found out that Son could reach the top of the table...,

He sure looks proud of himself!

Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness

Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness was the hymn of the day today. That's sons hymn!  We sing it to him as a lullaby whenever we put him down for a nap or bed. It lulled him right to sleep in his carrier 😊

Daughter has started singing whenever I say "Son needs a nap".

Anyway, we served the treats at church today so I got some cute pics of Son while Daughter was in Sunday School.

Last call for the beach!

We went to the beach today with two other homeschool families. We regularly have play dates with one of them but it was our first time meeting the other family. They also use MFW and they love it. I got some insight into the future if we stick with MFW curriculum. We all had a blast!

Son ate sand... and splashed around a lot. There was another baby there so they got to play together a bit.

Daughter had fun building sand castles, playing in the water, and swimming with all the kids. 😊
