Endo scratch?

A NEDC friend brought it up to me last night and I hadn't really thought about it.  I'd heard of it, but never looked into it.  Here's the study

It's supposed to significantly improve chances of attaining pregnancy through IVF or embryo transfer.

Well... that's good!  Right?  But every transfer we've ever had we acheived pregnancy.  First transfer from IVF fresh cycle (only two embryos were made, both transferred) twin pregnancy!  Lost twin A at 8 weeks, twin B at 10 weeks.  We tried IVF again but my body doesn't respond well to the meds and we only got two eggs and neither fertalized.

Then we turned to embryo adoption (EA).  First attempt 11/2012 we transferred 2 embies and we had our beautiful Daughter!

2nd attempt 03/2015, transferred 2 and had a chemical pregnancy.  Dr K told me that it was probably a genetic condition with the embryos (even though they both looked great) and nothing to do with me or my body.

We're going back next month.  I just, for all intents and purposes, "heard" of endo scratch.  Should we do it?  It's relatively cheap.  I do have a lot of pain anytime anything along those lines is done to me... the mock transfers hurt me and they don't hurt normal women.  (not that I'm not normal, just unique ;)

So I don't know what to do.  I'm leaning toward not doing it.  Mat is definitely on the "no" side, but he's open to it and leaving it up to me to research.  I've emailed and asked Lynda, but I haven't heard back yet.

Anyone have experience with endo scratches?

  1. We did it after our 3rd failed FET. (Before the 4th attempt.) It is NOT a pleasant procedure. But we wanted to make sure we were doing *everything* possible to give the embies a chance at life. Didn't work.
Our next FET (with no endo scratch) gave us our Sadie. (Who will be 1 in a few weeks!) I can to realize that God knows which embryos He intends to live on earth. He knows the plans He has for each one- whether that be instant Glory or earthly life.
For me, the scratch was me trying to manipulate God's hand to "make" them survive. I didn't see that at the time, but in retrospect, it was a sign of mistrust.
I share that, not because you're the same, but just to encourage to fully seek out the reasons you are considering it.
Best of luck- I'll be praying for you!

    1. We had decided against it when Dr Keenan told us he didn't think I should get it. So I'm definitely not getting one!

Thank you for your heartfelt and Christian response. God bless :)
